It makes more sense to me to have the bass on the bottom...and I kind of like the looks, nice and shiny.

I mean, the stuff is crazy expensive.

Oh, well in that case, just use the crushed pear instead.

I'm glad someone appreciates this instrument. Picking up on John's Tommy James/John Slog reference, It took me 30 minutes to find the photo! It is the only doubleneck made by Rickenbacker in the 1960s -- as far as I know. As Jerry observes, it seems more practical for the bass to be located on the bottom (as opposed to the top, where it is generally located on 4080 models) for weight distribution (as if any of these doublenecks are practical!)

Here's the ultimate doubleneck (doublegood, double your pleasure, etc.) moment -- direct from the Register:
Doubleneck Heaven
Doubleneck Heaven
It is claimed that one of them is a modded version of this:
Doubleneck Heaven II
Doubleneck Heaven II

...and I made a reference to the missing "L" in Noel's post, via my comment to Gareth...

BTW, that's the most detailed "musician action figure" I've ever laid eyes on! Does he have moveable joints? Who made him, Mego? Schaper? Kenner?

Where can I get me one?

I suspect it was assembled in Sweden.
