Andrew,
I'm here and so's the bass! It's a great piece and now that this one on ebay is going for twice what I paid, feels even better. I did manage to get the correct tuning keys for it by the way.

More than likely it was a late 60's or early 70's bass, and somehow the fretboard was damaged and a luthier replaced the board. So I guess it is old and real, but... it's always the buts that get you.

Well, if this german guy were such an expert, at least he should have known better (with a girl like you Image ) where the S/N is. Also, but there maybe _I_ am wrong, I believe he would have specified "4001S", not "4001".
Anyway, his aggressiveness looks like his swindle has been uncovered.
