Canada is one of many possibilities for "international", Brian!

Anyway, I'd like the happy owner to step up and ID himself at this point...

Super guitar, Paul. A real beauty.

IMHO that finish would nail some 1959 Autumnglo finishes that I've seen. To my eye, just right...with a wider band of shading.

Steve Wood has finally identified the recipient of this handsome guitar. It has been in the works since 2008 and a fair bit of planning and discussion has been carried out both on and off line. You may remember a discussion we had quite some time ago about the finish.

I was looking for something fresh and different but at the same time an appearance that hearkens back to yesteryear. Hence the RIC statite tuners. It was also important to have an f-hole and a slimmer headstock and for me nothing says Rickenbacker more strongly that the checkered binding. The trapeze tail piece and f-hole was selected to match the 12 string that I have.

Under the hood we have Glen Lambert's wiring loom that allows for the selection of all seven possible combinations of pickups. The middle and bridge pickups are hot toasters which I prefer for a six string and the neck pickup is a high gain modified by Sergio to look like a toaster.

This instrument has drawn on the strengths of North America, Europe and Australia and as such is a product of three continents.

I am indebted to Glen, Sergio, all those who contributed to the finish selection process and of course to Paul who worked so very hard producing this gorgeous instrument. The shading and colour has exceeded all expectations. With any luck I will have it next week. Thanks to all who have provided the kind comments in this thread.

Congrats Peter. Great work Paul.

I looked for the original thread but couldn't find it. The color looks similar to a couple of photos I posted if I recall correctly. In fact very close to my home-built neck through, so no doubt I really like this color.
