In a about a day or so, I might see some snow on the mountain tops in the distance. That's about as close as snow or frigid temps get to my area.

We put up our Xmas decorations this weekend whilst it was bright sunshine and 22°C / 72°F outside. Having spent every other Xmas of my life in Northern/Central Europe, that was pretty strange! A nice kind of strange though!

Supposed to get down to 14 F tonight here in central Oregon.... Brrrrrr.... not used to it yet.... I could use a little global warming right about now.
On the upside, my cats Joey and Qweequake are extra snuggly these days

- Here's what they thought of last winter's snow.... and yes, Joey really is that plump

Joey is a purebred Chocolate Devon Rex who looks like he's had a bit too much chocolate himself. He was born in Australia - hence the name Joey. A year and a half ago Joey was kicked by a deer and almost lost his back right leg.... since then he's gained a few.
I used to think deer were cute playful creatures. To quote Inspector Clouseau... "
not anymore"

- Joey in his prime, pre-deer

I felt like it.... but I can just picture myself in court ....
"Yes, Your Honor, I did put twelve 9mm rounds into that deer while in a residential neighborhood, but I just HAD to... the damned thing kicked my cat"

Wow! That's bloody cold for Central Oregon. Ask some of the old timers around your area about the big snow of Feb. '69.

Well, the forecasters were wrong again, called for -16F last night... It's
-23 this morning!

We don't usually get to the -20's until January...
But hey, they updated the forecast for today's high, now calling for -4F...

That's just too cold! I'm shivering in the 30 degree temps here in Virginia. Apparently our new pup is too. Woke up this morning and didn't see him in his bed. He crawled into our bed at some point during the night and I found him wrapped up in a little ball under the covers.

We're off to a good start here in Montana, I wonder if we'll beat last year's lowest temp of -38F... I sure hope we don't hit the all time record low of -56F
A few temp reports from other places known for being cold:
Nome Alaska: +34F
Fairbanks, AK: +1F
Pt. Barrow, AK: +13F
Minot, ND: -14F
Hey, we've got 'em all beat!
