Unfortunately, no, not yet. Dealing with a fraudulent insurance agent that looks like we've been screwed out of about $50k...

Good grief, CJ! I'm sorry to hear about that. I hope you can work it out in the best possible way for you.

Not really intending to air all this stuff in public, sorry about that. This is quite literally turning into a federal case as it involves federal crop insurance fraud.
Anyway, since this thread has kind of strayed FAR from the original subject, I'm going to end this one here and start a whole new one on the new bass. I'm back home now and thinking it just might be a good time to open up the new 4003FL and do something kinda fun for a change...

CJ, it's OT to your original OT, but I am pretty irate about insurance policies too. My wife has been all but shot to smithereens by multiple health insurance policies that have failed to provide her coverage, meanwhile walking off with a lot of money... we are both lucky that I am generally quite healthy. /rant
And good luck with your federal case... I am slightly aware of what it is like to deal with a farm (thanks to my dad's small scale operation) and I can't imagine what it would be like to do it on a truly competitive/money-making scale. Must be hellish and take all of the strength you have sometimes... or so I would guess. Agriculture is kind of like war, I don't always approve of it, but I do always support the troops. God bless ya'... /rant 2
I really look forward to hearing about your new fretless, may it bring you the same joy and peace of mind mine brings to me, especially in times of stress such as this.

Thanks guys. But you know what they say, when it rains, it pours. I was informed this afternoon by my boss at my "day job" where I've worked for the last 21 years, that there's a 99% chance that I'll be out of work by next May. Oh joy, oh joy...

I think you need some quality time with that new fretless, CJ. Just what the doctor ordered.

I hope that works out for the best also!
To make the loss of a job even worse than it could be, don't you just love that employers do this right before the holidays?!?
Mr. 00659821, we don't need you any more! Happy Holidays!

Well, at least I have a little time. Basically I'm on a list of people whose jobs are going away, some may get reassigned to other projects. The final determination will be made over the next 3 to 4 months. The fact that I telecommute and work from home makes it far less likely that I'll get onto the "keep" list. It's the old out of sight, out of mind thing, coupled with the fact that I'm over 50 with a lot of time so I'm "too expensive" now.
The tough part is that where I live there is absolutely nothing in the way of jobs. Finding another telecommuting job is very difficult when you want to start out that way, much easier to transition from working on site to a remote job.
On a brighter note, it's sounding like there's enough of a case to hang the shyster insurance agent. No idea where it will all end or whether I'll recover any of the payment I'm supposed to get, which all goes to the bank to cover an operating loan. The bank people are after him too since they only made the loan on his assurance that everything was insured. I think he's suddenly finding himself in some very deep doo doo..

Kira, I'm very happy to see that although you don't have a Rickenbacker FL or any other fretless bass, you still join us in this forum!

You think I'd miss a party?

Hey, fretless are cool; at least I can experience the joy vicariously, thanks to you all.

Thanks for letting me hang around.
