i'll be making mine with the 4001 style hardware. i've got everything i need, rick neck section and all. would like to get a v63 style surround instead of the normal '70s style i have. all i need to make is the body wings, but thicker. maybe mr. jingle might paint it for me ???

Ok,

My memory isn't what it once was, but didn't Dane have a bass made from a RIC guitar? I vaguely remember it had a HS and all, it was on Ebay like 2 or 3 years ago.

I'd dreamed about a 360 based bass for a few years now. A semi hollow body, akin to the 4005, only smaller and lighter.

Ron, it hangs in the RIC factory museum room. Unfortunately I cut the headstock off in this pic:

those coils remind me of the mustang bass pickups, only exposed. cool ! the original rick bridge would have looked better as the 3000 series basses had. i put a 4001 tailpiece assy on a gibson grabber and it looked great ! does mr. hall sneak into the factory after hours and make these one-offs ? 8)

Awesome!
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!
