Tough decision for me with Blue Burst and Monte Brown being my favorites. I wound up picking BBR.

Desert Gold is my least favorite COY.

Blue Boy for me. The only one I don't really like is Blueburst.

Forgot all about BG...

MB still comes in first for me, followed closely by BG. I do like to see a DG from time to time, it's gotta be one of the rarest COYs out there.

I voted Monte, but I hope someday to update my vote to Burgundyglo. Better yet, Eggplant Burgundy.

EDIT: Ahhh...I see, I see...

I too would like to see some sort of orange ,being a Gretsch nut i think 6120 59-LTV orange with gold guards would look lovely! 8)

Added note, but I also think Burgundy was available in '99 and '00, then skipped a year.
Yeah, the Rickenbacker Page (http://www.the-music-connection.com/ricinfo.htm) shows a color chart with a footnote that states: "(Burgundy) Available beginning Oct.1999 on 425v63 and 450v63 special edition models only, reintroduced Jan. 2002 on all standard models." That chart and this footnote were apparently derived from the Japanese Rittor book. Is it possible that the special edition models were for the Japanese market? Does anyone know of '99 or '00 V63 guitars in Burgundy? I don't know my guitars well as most of my accumulated documentation relates to the basses only. Anyway, I find this footnote to be rather odd. I do know that a few 4001V63 basses were finished in Sea Green, but don't know of any V63 basses in other COY's. It seems that near the end of the 4001V63 production (roughly 2000-2002), RIC did a few of them in odd colors. There are quite a few Jetglo V63. I have a Turquoise V63, and I know of at least one in Midnight Blue. This same thing has recently occurred at the tail end of the C64 and C64S production with Midnight Blue -- glossy on C64, satin on C64S (supposedly only a handful), Jetglo -- again satin on C64S, and even some satin Fireglo C64S. Originally, these vintage models were to be made only in Fireglo and Mapleglo. Jetglo seems to be the most common of these "outsiders."

If you click the "MFG DATE" header on the Register chart on the link provided by Stan, the records will line up in reverse chron order. This shows that there were a bunch of BG 450/425V63s made in December 1999; then a gap unti early 2002-04 for a variety of BG models.

It also shows that, prior to 1999 (with one exception) the most recent BG was dated 1989.

This is an example of a finish I would like to see.

And that one was probably a Ruby.

Hijacking my own thread, but does anyone have a side-by-side example pic of a Ruby and a Red?

That's a bit of a difficult compare, because Red often came with black hardware and trim, whereas Ruby usually came with white.

Here's a Red and Ruby photographed in the same location, same day:
Red 620-12
Red 620-12
Ruby 360-12
Ruby 360-12
Ruby has a slight metallic sheen to it. The best way to tell Ruby in person is if you can spot a ding; there will be a silver undercoat showing under the red finish coat. Also, according to the "Rittor" chart (on occasion found not to be 100% accurate), Ruby was a finish option from 1980 to 1984; Red from 1985 to 1999.
