Jim Krause and beatbyrd listened to it, very nice comments from both and much appreciated----

"If Yer Gone" is in the key of G.....The first verse is the first position chord for G, then remove all fingers except the pinky on the 1st strings 3rd fret G-note, plop the index finger ONLY on the first fret of the second strings, a C-note, strum all first four sets of strings then hammer down to Em.....

No special tunings, no drop D.......

What makes the song is Gene's voice, his words and McGuinn and Crosby's spooky ahhhs in the backgorund---not to mention Hillman's iconic bass part.....

there......I said it...... "Set You Free This Time" is done except for the harp.....I gotta learn harp.......or.....not

YESSIR----I like this forum alot.....I have learned a lot from these cats....mostly humility .....very talented crew here on the RRF

I do too, plus we gots Gretsch and Beatles and Byrds, a lot more channels if you know what I mean!

same here Gee. By the way, I remember a Baldwin guitar I had in 1967, it was an nylon string acoustic with a pickup built-in in the bridge, must have been the first piezo-pickup ever made, stupidly, I sold it to get a 12-string acoustic Epiphone whose top warped in less than a year, it couldn't handle the tension of the strings. Ended up without the goat and without the rope

BALDWIN! ha.... for years the band I was in had 2 150 watt Baldwin organ slave amps--each one had a 12 and a 15 in. speaker. We bought them for $100, brand new, from a legendary electronics place on California Ave. in Chi-Town....it was called ATOMIC TV.....

Those slave amps ROCKED......lasted for 30 years....

...and I bet those amps sounded good too. Baldwin sold excellent equipment in the 1960's even though they did not manufacture it, I think.
