Well, Woody, you can dull the pain a bit by making the kitchen and bath into "50s tributes"!

Yes, i'm an idiot. Dunno why I typed that. And in regards to your previous post I edited my message down to simple facts.
Facility?
The only facility Ed has shown is for slinging El Toro Poo-Poo.
Well by all accounts his shop is more like a fortress............hence the word facility.

$100?
Ha!
I went there once when it was free and it wasn't worth it!

Rickenbacker Neck Thru Body Core Older Model
$1,000.00
We can build custom cores like this but the price starts @ $1,700.00
He's probably going to test the waters to see what he can or cannot do from a legal perspective. It makes you wonder how much research he's done regarding copyright infringement and what the repercussions entail.
I wonder what thought he's given to the hardware side of things.
What's he going to call it? The Romanfacker!

You can see Ed, free, wandering the aisles, at any NAMM show. No comment.

But can just anyone walk up to the door at a NAMM show and get admission for a mere $100?

Perhaps we should split the costs of a small booth at namm only so we could charge him $100 entrance to our booth.

I guess I did OK when I went in there. It was the older larger shop, and was massive, and had a bewildering amount of stuff in there. I was the only customer in there. He had a Squire for $5500 and a Lemmy for 10K. (This was about 5 years ago).
I picked up a set of RIC keywinds for $50, which was a good price even then.
There was a huge amount of inventory though, and all of it was way high priced.
I guess he stays in business somehow though.

It is really interesting that a guy can stay in business who openly flaunts "Ghost" built guitars, "Fabulous Fakes," and brags about passing off rebodied guitars as the real deal:

Although on this last link he did pay homage to Rickenbacker that he couldn't duplicate the tone, no matter how hard he tried! Quote: "[Y]ou would still need a Rickenbacker to achieve that tone."

I was kinda hoping to start a discussion about the bass itself, and what year it might be. So...if we're done bashing ER, let's talk about the bass carcass. I knew RIC used a Forstner bit on early guitar cavities, but not on the basses. Anyone have a 4000 that was done that way, and what year could this be?

I'm guessing '63-4. The Forstner-bit control cavity points to a very early date, but it appears to be factory routed for the aluminium TP with mute, which was a '63 innovation. Of course, at the time there could be some considerable delay between the body being carved and the bass being fully assembled....
