More than anyone, credit should be given to this site's Gil Disatnik. He cheerfully took on the task of creating and performing the rather complex task of moving the thousands of messages from the old site to the new one. This was not a trivial job given the underlying differences in software and we were hard pressed to figure that one out ourselves. At one point we consider just started with a fresh board but Gil stepped up to the challenge and thankfully talked us out of that.
Anyway, thank you Gil for all of the work on our behalf and I know everyone genuinely appreciates having those older messages, with their great information, available on the new site. Now if we could only get you to change your username . . .
The page design was done by our new webmaster, Dan Beighley.

Kudos to Gil, whose heart and mind are in the right place (s)! It's great to see the intramural cooperation in this sort of situation.
I remember discussing with Dan whether or not the old posts would be available. They are an invaluable resource. Thanks, Guys and Gil !!!

Not to detract, but don't they offer any other colors besides white? I find it a bit tiring after a few minutes browsing. I know, picky, picky ...

Someone else said that and I thought they (an you!) were nuts; both here and at home for me it was blazingly fast as compared to the old site. However, as it loaded up with users, it indeed has become very slow.
Gil did some simple calculations for me that shows what kind of bandwidth we probably should have and it's obvious we have a problem both in what size of pipe we currently have, as well as how poorly the ISP is performing. It doesn't matter that we have first-rate equipment; it's bottle necked right now.
Long story short- we're addressing it and will take care of the problem. It just won't happen immediately, as we have to make a guitar or two sometimes to keep things going!
