Alright, I had to look that one up. Google pointed me right back here to an earlier post. Wasn't sure if it was that thing from Woody Allen's "Sleeper" moviejohnhall wrote:early proponent of the Phantasmagorian

Wow! This is fascinating. Thanks, John. I guess I'm going to have to place the LS basses back to '67-68 on the timeline.
Graham, the second picture you posted is the instrument Oyama Katsuyuki owns now. He has been kind enough to supply great photos. It has a date stamp of '68, but has late '72 neck features, so possibly a rebuild/restore as well.

Well, if they were around in '67, someone missed a trick at Monterey or Woodstock
How cool would a lightshow equipped band have been at those festivals?

Of course, a weaknesses of the Light Show is that you wouldn't see much on a brightly lit stage!

I am so glad that this gem was rescued. It never hurts to have a storage locker with goodies either. What fun it would be to spend some time in this locker. Nice work John.

What a great read this thread has been.
Ted and Kevin said "I love this place" and I quite agree.

I have never seen anything but a part # on the body PC boards. So, RIC could date the boards, but where would that get you?
Re: Dating a Lightshow bass
A great thread. Real interesting reading. Props to all those with the knowledge, and, more importantly these days, the memory!
