Thank you. I must admit that my 650AVH still is my own personal favorite among all 650s (and most other RICs).

Here is a photograph of my whole "collection". The Fender Strat is currently for sale on ebay by the way:



In the upper row you see my Fender Highway One Jazzbass (without any modifications, a perfect instrument and absolutely amazing value for money), my RIC 650AVH (which has Schaller Locking Tuners M6 Mini Topmount instead of the standard tuners), my modified 325V59 and my Kraushaar Stageplayer à Horn (a special master built guitar). In the lower row there is a classical guitar by Karl-Heinz Römmich, the Fender American Vintage ´57 Strat that I currently offer for sale, my 650 "Erkelenz" and an acoustic Godin 5th Avenue with an added floating jazz pickup.

Do you also get that hollow "out of phase" sound in the middle position? First I wondered about the polarity of the pickups, but everything seems to be wired in phase. I like the tone of the 12k toaster on its own and the humbucker on its own but the combination does not sound very good to my ears.

I've also done it on my 620, but took the set up out as I'm thinking of parting with it (plays and sounds great but it looks and feels too small on me). Regardless, I've never had a hollow or out of phase sound on any of them. I keep it in the middle position and let the 12K go full throttle and then just nurse in the HB to where I like it - adds a little sustain and low end. Could it possibly be how you paired the 4 leads down to two on the HB?

I sold a 650A/VT a few years back. Wonder if that's mine... I'm loving the white 650U.

Did you sell it to the Guitar Center in Danvers, MA? That´s where I bought mine. This must have been in 1999 or 2000, I think.

What does the expression "dog´s b***s" mean? Sorry, I am not a native speaker of the English language.

Mine was sold on Ebay around 2005, so I guess we both own(ed) these rare guitars independently. Couldn't have been many of them made. I LOVE the look of my 650A/VT, but could never become completely acclimated to the chubby maple neck. I was, fortunately, able to record with it on my songs though!

I truly do miss seeing the little 650 in my guitars. It was like having a sleek Italian roadster in the garage!!!!

I have seen very few white Ricks. Is it just me?

A great collection Markus. thanks for sharing. Gary, I agree there seem to be a limited number of white Rickenbackers in recent times.

that's a sweet finish, Markus. I was actually playing with the idea of a white finish on my 650 but I think I'd rather keep it Jetglo and see if it's possible to have checkerboard binding added one of these days.

That is a beautiful guitar congrats! Love the dazzling white finish. I read a post by John Hall about the white guitars in which he said that it was the sulfur gas emitted from the foam lining of cases that caused the clear coat layer of to yellow. So,maybe it is better to hang them on the wall then to keep them in the case(to keep it white).

Thank you very much. I like it still. And the playability and sound also have improved a great deal.

The rounded body and white finish remind me of a cloud.
