My '09 C64 horseshoe kind of arches up:

Is this normal? I used to have a V63 in the early 90's, and I remember the top part of the horseshoe was parallel to the strings.

Did the factory f*ck things up with mine? Or is this how they all are?

Yours is just fine, that was done on the later batches of shoes for a couple reasons, to look more like many of the horseshoe pickups from the '60s that are angles, and to provide greater range of height adjustment without the strings hitting the bottom of the shoes.

Ooooo, you're in for a treat! When I put Chrome flats on one of my V63s, it was magic. I have NOS RIC flats on my retro'd '04 4003 that has a RIHS and a RI Toaster and they sound just great.

Yeah, we have to bend ours up to look like that. Lucky you.

Jeffs V63 has legit shoes from the 60's! :mrgreen:
