(r)ead this with the additional information from me that a capped bridge pickup sounds very good when used in combination with the neck pickup.

+1 on the great sound of a capped bridge pickup in conjunction with a neck pickup, in my case a magnetic horseshoe pickup with a scatterwound toaster. :D

And again some problems: interparcel doesn't know my postcode, so the seller can't arrange collection.. Anybody any idea what i can do now? I'm out of ideas...

That is fast. Fastest I've got from England was the 4005 in 2 days. But usually I pay for the cheapest insured transport option and then it takes a week.

@Berth: The seller wanted it to be over asap, so we both chose for the interparcel express, which sends to europe in a day (!). Though it is quite pricey, the bass wil be here tommorow. :)

Nice bass. Cant wait for the pictures. My c64 was one of the better sounding Ricks I had.

Congrats, she's a beauty!
My C64 is the best-sounding of my 3 Ric basses, and it has a great feeling neck. It took me a while to get used to the horseshoe cover (it sometimes gets in the way of my right hand) and the reverse keywinds, but the tone is more than worth it.

And as a follow-up to my earlier post, my boss brought his new Ric 12-string to work today to show me, so I ran home & grabbed my bass for a picture of them together...
