Jeff -- on your six-pack prototype 4005 there, how are you envisioning the standard switches and knobs wired up to all those Toasters ?

Have you got a picture of the wiring harness ?

Um, let's see, hmm, how about, three of the controls are dual ganged pots for two each of the toasters, with the fourth control a master tone control, yeah, that's, like, it, man. Oh yeah, the switch!

Hmmmmmmmm, well, I suppose it could be to switch between each pair on the dual ganged controls, hey yeah, that works.
I think!

i'd say...all the pickups in series...then all the pickups in parallel...then, series parallel, then a big tab of acid to make sense of it all !!!

Ditto; five or six, for better spacing, and those subtle tones no one's going to hear. . . .
Push pull pots on the 4005.
As for the original, I don't understand all the fuss about a completely sensible and conservative modification. . . .
I'm kidding, of course. Maybe one could sell all the extra bits to help pay for the resto!

Bet the bottle opener is on the back of the headstock!

How about original pickups from std output and J-bass style pickups from Rick-O-Sound output? Two basses in one, just plug in the one you happen to like today. Maybe that's why there are controls from both basses, the original knobs + J-bass knobs. Sure it's ugly but kind of fascinating idea anyway.

Funny how they always end up on eBay a month later, hacked and butchered even though the owner was
so sure the mods would get the perfect tone.
