Yeah, it's quite a dark fretboard. I haven't really got to sit down with it much, as I sent it over to my local shop to get a good setup. I suspect that the fifth fret may need some slight leveling, and I'm not confident that I could pull that off myself. I'm chewing my fingernails waiting to get it back, though!

May have had a re-fret job. Some people don't like the finish on the board.

yes,when i got my 4000 refretted,most of the fingerboard finish gloss was knocked off,but i was told it could be buffed back to having the sheen if i wanted. I have not gotten around to it, i kind of liked the look at first. if i change out the tuners,i will probably buff it back.

thought maybe it had something to do with being refretted. Any chance it could have been a special order?

Aren't the fret boards cleared on those to ? Might not be but I'd still take it, nice !

Sweet deal. Love V63s. I have a 99 V63. I would have liked the longer headstock, but I'll live. Beauty bass. Mark
