JG is the only color for me. Everything else is unneeded excess.

I too pray to John Hall every night before I go to bed, glad to see I'm not alone! I'm guessing Rickenbacker runs a batch manufacturing system with different setups an processes for each guitar. I would love if they sold the 4005, 370, and 340 again, but if setup costs were too much and they were harder to make their discontinuations are understandable.
They probably also have contracts for their raw material inventory with various suppliers, including ones for finishes/paints. Maybe this is is why they only stick to a few colors? To keep costs down for entry-level buyers.

The 340 and 370 were eliminated to clear the backlog- it's just another pickup on a readily available guitar. Now, the 4005 is a whole other enchilada!

That would be very intresting to have the 4005 back in the market since the 4001c64 is now discontiuned.

Is Black or white really a colour?.. I thought they were the abscence of colour.

They can't both be the absence of color; which is which depends on whether you are considering additive or subtractive color.

THAT'S IT! The answer to the OP's prayer is white.
White light is a mixture of all colours. So with a white rick you have every colour at the same time.
