There is more that has been done to this, too, can you see what else was done?

Yes, it's had the highly desirable "JPS" knob alignment installed!

Tug-bar and real shoes?

Agreed. I do have a re-worked '60's surround and aluminum TP for it if I ever get around to having them replated.

I'm pretty sure my band is done, so maybe now is the time to get it "updated".

I was thinking more details just about the surround, itself.

Real shoes? Yes, that is a real magnetic HS PU in there. :D

I wouldn't mind a modern replica of this 1968 Autumnglo.

Absolutely. I'm not too sure this is ATG, but ambered FG with plenty of exposure over the years. It is stunning regardless on the front face, much like Jeff Rath's old Sept '68. I guess that's what mine would look like if it hadn't been in a case since '73...

Get them plated.
It's much easier and not too expensive.
Great plating shop on the west coast; did two TPs and bridges for under $200 and they look better than new.

Old Fireglo tends to becomes orange, not dark FG. Quoting John Hall from 2.17.2000, "The earliest version of Autumnglo was simply shaded brown (...) The next version was just Fireglo laid on rather heavily. The last version was back to that original brown, but in a satin finish"
