Woody, no matter what anyone has claimed regarding a fretless electric bass that sounds like an URB, I have never come across such a bass. An URB has so much different going on that it can never really be duplicated (IMO+E with various fretless basses and string sets).

Well,certainly there are degrees by which an eclectric bass guitar can sound more like an urb.
I never said "exactly",which would of course be absurd.Most of an URB's sound comes from it being a huge acoustic instrument,sonething no bass guitar can duplicate.
My Carvin AC 40 with piezo pickup and black labella tapewounds gave a very good impersonation of that sound,though.
I just haven't found what i'm looking for with the Cii,yet. I'll know it when i hear it!

I had them on the '72 4000 i bought (and sold back to) forum member Don Hanks. I liked them,they have a feel very similar to the old Maxima set,but are stainless steel,so they do sound different. (A bit crispier).
They would probably sound nice on a Cii.
