My thanks for sharing them...

A 60s era Toaster is expensive but not impossible to find - it is the same as the ones used on guitars. Is the pick up dead or is there an issue with the wiring harness?

A common issue with toasters is the ground leads can easily contact the hot post (I almost said stud but knew the thread would go on a wild tangent.....)
Or the hot lead can break off....

Easy fix if that is the case....

No tug bar, just like my former '64....

I must have missed this one first time around.

All the innards are absolutely original. It looks completely original.

If it's as straight as you say then it's worth big bucks. How much I ?

I'm not up with current prices but I'd start offering it for $ 20k US & negotiate from there.

Has VG seen it yet?

The wiring on this bass is NOT completely original. The white vinyl wire replacing the .0047uF bass cut cap is newer, and where's the cap? The red vinyl wire from C3 to C3 on the volume pots is not original, and the output jack wire is not original.

Happened to come across this one on ebay. Ended Oct 12 no bidders. Doesn't ship to US.

My 2 cents -- the gap between pickguard bottom and treble surround is too wide.

The gap width is pretty all over the place on those.
Are you suspicious of fakery Ron?

No masking tape on underside of guard for pots, that combined with rewiring and short guard -- maybe a new pickguard?

I know the gap widths were all over the place, but looking at what is available on the Register for model 1999 made in 1964, the other guards appear to have smaller or no gaps.

Also the FIreglo on this one seems unusually light and "orange-ish." Could be the photos.
