Now I don't feel so bad.
I'm actually trying to stock up on 4001v63's I still think there is alot of investment potential in them.

I would have gotten it, I saw it up there and called J. Rath to try and get him to hit the "Buy it now" button since he told me that he was looking, and that the color scheme was right up his alley, but he let it go and it sold a few minutes later. A beauty, and if I hadn't bought the 4001AG, I would have bit on that one.

I'm curious about something.... I have a beautiful 4001v63 in jetglo that my husband snagged off eBay a year ago with a BIN of $1000--it had been mislabeled as a 4003, just like the one up for discussion now.... I didn't fully appreciate just how sought-after the jetglo v63's were until after he bought it.... Would anyone know when RIC started making them in jetglo, and how many were made?

You are mistaken that V63's of ANY finish are "in demand"....they are quite the opposite! Nobody here is interested in acquiring V63's....since the C64 series came out, nobody wants them! BUT, since I'm a nice guy, I would be willing to take your beautiful V63JG off your hands for practically nothing!!
Seriously, I don't think there is any way of knowing how many of these beautiful instruments were made.....let alone the JG's. I would assume that there are VERY few in that finish since most of the literature you see on this model state that they were made in mapleglo and fireglo....
Hang on to that one!!! Or sell it to ME!!

It's funny, I heard also the jetglo wasn't a regular color for that bass. The one that went off last week was one, Melissa has another and I have one.

I would think so! Their literature only lists the FG and MG option!! JG is VERY rare....

No matter the model, no matter what the literature says, we ALWAYS make some instruments in Jetglo. Given that the product is made from wood, there's always going to be a piece that's perfectly good from a structural standpoint but isn't attractive aesthetically. Rather than dispose of these perfectly good instruments, we spray them Jetglo, orders or not, as someone always wants something different and "off-catalog".
We won't accept an order for an item like this but infrequently offer one to the dealers.

If i'm not mistaken Mike Parks had a c64s in Jetglo. Now that makes sense.
