Not a very flattering shot but here are the controls and pickups. I placed a current Rick humbucker on the body for comparison with the 4002 pickups. I have not seen these pickups in any other Rick. I have no clue what they are. The tops are covered with tolex (like the instrument case).

You can use the XLR at the same time you use either the Mono or Stereo jack. I've noticed that you will get signal cancellation from the treble pickup if you mix the signals from the XLR and Stereo jack which indicates that the primary and secondary coils are wound out of phase.
The XLR is fed only by the treble pickup, but the signal path does go through the Treble tone control.
