You really expect me to answer that? Give me a break! We paid for the tooling (as we did at Shellex) and have it custom produced, so as such it's a proprietary item.

That's cool John, my mother-in-law never gave us her recipe for chicken soup...

That is all you had to say......... I did not know it was proprietary information. Many companies have used similar binding over the years so I assumed it was a commodity.

Here is the latest update. As you can probably tell, it is still too long, too wide, and too thick but closer than it was before. The clamps are just lightly holding the fingerboard in place so I can check the fit. Guys, sorry about the checkerboard binding thing a few messages back. I had no idea Ric had private stock. I certainly did not intend to make such a fuss. Thanks to JH for setting the record straight.

That's a pretty piece of wood, it looks good on that body. If you need a black pickup surround for the neck pup, I can help.

A nice strip of black binding around the headstock will look nice....

The plan is to remove the black body binding and replace it with checkerboard and white like the Hoffs prototype. I suppose black on the headstock could still work with that scheme.

Of course, you COULD paint the fingerboard white and then you have a checkerboard tuxedo??? (figuring that the bass itself would be white?

I am leaning toward the all white look too. I had that gold TRC handy and it looks so good on that headstock. When the bass is ready, I will post pics of both looks you guys can vote on it.

I will keep it in mind. A few people have asked about it but I am not sure what I am going to do yet.
