The search is over. I just ordered a new fireglo 620 from Pick of the Ricks. The lead time is 6 months, but it'll be a brand spankin' new guitar.

When it arrives, I'm having Chris put a trapeze tailpiece on it. I have enough trouble on the 360 when it comes to the R tailpiece and from what I've read, the spacing between the tailpiece and the bridge is tight on the 620, so I'm better off with a trapeze.

Thanks for all of the advice!

Anymore recent thoughts on the 620s? Anyone like the new headstock on the 12 strings? It looks weird to me, but then so do the Schaller tuners... All my 620's from the early 1980's had Klusons...

Curious about how the newer guitars play and sound...

My first 1980 620 12 string I got from the songwriter Chris De Burgh.. http://www.cdeb.com/cdebnew/askchris/archive5.html

Alas it was lost in a fire in 1991.

Just this year I finally tracked down a replacement from the same era.. (November 1980)...

Scott:

That is a very nice 620/12 in a very very pretty fireglow.. (except for those horrible looking Schaller tuners - sorry I am biased i know!!)

Still it looks well loved... What kind of music do you play on her?
