How long did Joey wait for his?

You can't really go by my wait for the 4004/5Cii, as I don't know how long before I received it, that Chris at POTR placed the order for this bass to be part of his store stock.
I think Paul Alvarez waited 16 months for his.

I think there may be some changes in the 4004CII5 in 2005 and the time to get one will probaly go down to 6-9 months ...

Do you suppose 16 months would be typical or was Paul's an early order?

If there are changes to the 4004/5Cii, I want the updated mods on mine.
It would be hard to say what the wait time would be there was supposedly a 9 to 12 month lead time when I ordered mine 14 months ago.

If I had a 4004CII5 I would probably put one of these schaller bridges on it ... I like the feel and spacing and adjustability ...

Jeff, the ABM bridge on the 4004/5Cii also has adjustable string spacing. It looks very similar to the Schaller.

but it is more like 2 3/4" spacing ... I prefer 2 1/2" ... and that would work better with the pickups as well ...

...I like the spacing the way it is on the 4004/5Cii for finger style. If you were to narrow the string spacing, you would leave a lot of space between the string and the edge of the fingerboard. You would also have to change the nut to keep the distance of B and G string to the edge of the fingerboard consistent.
As much as I love my 4003S/5, I have given up trying to play it fingerstyle. In fact I've re-installed the bridge pickup cover and play it with a pick only.

I modified my 4003s5 from 2 1/8" to 2 1/4" ... that extra 3/8" makes it more finger friendly ... but it is still on the tight side ... but I have smaller hands and I am used to the spacing ... the tighter spacing is a little problematic for the right hand when playing finger style but it is great for the left hand ... my hands are a little smaller than most so I can thumb slap, thumb pick, pluck with fingers, or do the geddy/Entwhistle typwriter method ... and I do use a pick as well ... anyway all of my 4003 five string basses are 2 1/4" spacing ... and my 2030 and 4004 basses are 2 3/8" ... all of my Fender style five string basses are 2 1/2" to 2 5/8" spacing ...
here's a picture of my modified 4003 five string bridge ...

I like the Hipshot Style "A" that Jeff Scott uses.
