Am I the only one here who deosn't like the 4005 and thinks that the best bass Ric has ever made is the 4004CII? Are you all going to bannish me for saying that?

Banish me too, I don't particularly care for the 4005...The way that I play would probably crush the hollowbody....

The 4005 is definitely an "acquired" taste....it's big, it's hollow and it's.....well, it's BIG!!

But they have a great "presence" and they're light and sound outstanding!! IMHO , of course...

Never played a 4004Cii, but I have owned a 4004L, which never really did anything for me....

I have the Ted Staberow/Jeff Rath-enbacker 4004CI and it is an interesting bass. I have not played a 4005 for a long time but I need something with aggression so even the CI may be going to someone else in exchange for another 4003...

Having seen you play Jaymi, I agree with you, you'd beat a 4005 to matchwood in minutes !!!

Anything I get HAS to be solidbody for that reason!!! Image
I am going to stick with the 4001/3 basses..

Classy collection, Erik.

Especially the 1989 2030 and the 4004cII, that thing is a beaut.

Does it have walnut headstock wings?

Always enjoy finding another fan of the 2030/3001 body style.
Great stable there Erik!
