I know it, TI's would be a nice choice for standard equipment flats on those. I think TI's and Pyramids have the most charactor of any flat wounds I've tried. TI's are nice for old basses with weak pickups as they are a high output string.
Hey look at it this way, we're the vanguard of a new movement.

well i just made the switch to flatwounds yesterday. im trying the roto 45-65-85-105 mainly because i didn't want to delve into pyramids just yet. and upon the first notes i played, i absolutely love them. i was thinking the whole time,"yeah, that's what i've been wanting my bass to sound like for the last 12 years". they are pretty high tension, but at this point, that's not bothering me too much.
i'd like to especially thank you bob for all your posts on this subject. i know everyone here has different tastes, but after reading many of your posts, i've deduced that the sound you strive for is probably closest to the one i strive for. so far, so good. i even managed to shave the nut for 2 of the strings to fit in and i didn't even break anything. ahhh, baby steps
I can't believe im on a pilgrimage to see a moose. PRAISE MARTY MOOSE!
