Marc,
Are you saying you ordered your LK from Music123 ... if that's the case I'd be fit to be tied. I'd be on the phone and up the management ladder like a rodent vertically traversing an aqueduct ... !!!

I ordered from the site and got confirmation. I sicerely doubt they have one for me. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Ouch ... well fingers crossed, and maybe with a little luck you'll get two.
As corny as it sounds I had you in mind today when I was trying to buy it. Personally it doesn't appeal to me, but I remember you saying you had had yours on order for coming on 4 years !!!! I was figuring that if I snagged it you, or another forum member would have refunded me the Music 123 price ....

That's a beautiful bass. I like the oak leaves the best.
Brian, that will be so cool when your LK comes in. Hang in there!

C'mon Brian - we can tough it out for a few more months.
When it comes to the 4004LK I ordered I sometimes feel like I'm running a marathon - but now the finish line is in sight!

Lemmy actually played his 4004LK at last years Wacken Open Air festival, wonder if its his primary bass now.

The last few times I saw Motorhead the LK is all he played and I haven't seen any pictures of him recently with any other Ric.
Jim.....if it was me you were referring to thanks for the thought and I would have swapped you several things (of your choice) in Fireglo or provided a generous thank-you-wad-o-cash
Steve.....I was fine with the long wait and toughing it out but that got old a year or so ago. It is almost just an unfunny, sad joke now that I (we) ordered this thing over 4 years ago. I respect Rickenbacker and Mr. Hall greatly for producing the quality instruments that they do and I am very loyal to the brand but I can't help but feel let down and frustrated. I'm sure I'll be thrilled when I get it but I'm not thrilled having waited this long and honestly who knows how much longer. I was told the run should be over by summer '05 but I'll believe it when I see it.....

Brian, you have my sympathies; hope it makes up for all the waiting when you actually get it. And Jim, way to go, proving yet again what a gent you are. Hope you're keeping well!

Brian, it was indeed you, no one should have to wait almost 4 years for their Ric, that's cruel and unusual !!!
I'd have glady exchanged for what it would have cost me.
As I said the lK doesn't personallly buzz my frets, but I know we each have our own Fireglo's .... I mean obsessions. !!!!
Shaun, doing fine here thanks, we're in the middle of some of the worst rain in years.
I was very pleasantly surprised at just how fast the forum Jungle telelgraph kicked in for the 4004LK, I missed it by minutes, maybe less !!!

That LK will probably pop up on Ebay in a few weeks with a $7000 BIN

I'm still not sure who bought this one. As I said, I placed an online order and got confirmed but, either they had two in stock or they have an explanation for me on why they couldn't deliver.
If by some miracle, an LK comes to my door, I already spoke with my wife. We're both pretty much in agreement that this kind of bass may put a dent in our kids college fund in a few years so you won't see it on Ebay from me.
Mike Parks did mention to me that one of his customers popped for one of them from Ed Roman. He believes the guy paid $7500 for it.

Marc,
It's been a few days - you should call back to check on the status of your order. It would be interesting to see what they say.

My feeling is I will hear by the end of the day as they state that if the item is not in stock, they will advise in 48 hours. It has been finally removed from their data base. The reason why I'm not calling is that I'm trying to be innocent about the whole thing. Maybe they will buy one in the open market and lose money to satisfy a customer. I'm not sure what their obligation to me is because of the fact I have a confirmed order.
I would certainly think having something in writing is more powerful than talking to someone over the phone.
We will see.
