You guys put a little too much faith in IP addresses. Go ahead- check out mine there to the left.

Okay, those of us that know about these things know how it's done and let's keep it that way.

Actually, I'm the one that made it a requirement for Peter to have this. It's just to keep folks honest and I won't post at boards that don't have this security, frail as it is.

Lol ... My faith in IP is just the opposite !! I spend too much time patching and blocking to trust it.

You're on the east side of town tonight ???

I spend a great deal of my time doing that too Jim. It seems that dynamic address space of the is conspiring to disrupt the world.

I once owned a September '72 4000, it had the set neck. For some reason or other, I was under the impression the 4000 switched to set neck sometime around mid-72.... Either way it was a nice bass.

Someone suggested the handrest wasn't original. When were those phased out? I know they persisted on the 4001 through sometime in 1972, why not the 4000 as well?

I think you're talking about two different things. Handrest=pickup cover as opposed to finger rest. That's my guess anyway!

The last fingerests were used in late 1972, I believe.

Oh yes, I was thinking of the "tug bar" underneath the strings for playing thumb style....
