Production Changes And Other Questions

I have personally never seen a non-Vintage Reissue 1980s RIC that used the Schaller Kluson look-alikes. However, some of the 660s were using them in 2002 or so.
They have a fatal drawback; the covers tend to fall off after a time. I have restaked the cover back into the body of the tuner and saved a lot of these tuners.
BTW, my recently acquired April 1982 360/12WB has Klusons.

In the 1985 Vintage Series catalog, the 325v59 is pictured with the vintage style Schallers.
here's a link to the 1984 catalog at RIC, same picture as the 1985 catalog I have, but smaller.

Re: Production Changes And Other Questions
My 1982 620 had Kluson tuners on it...
But I have seen a 1983 620 with Grover tuners...
I understand that by 1986 Schaller tuners became standard issue on all New RICs, other the the vintage reissues.
There must be more guitars out there in the world with the Schallers... But to me they still look wrong.

It's no big deal Paul...
I have been using the search function.. Keying in 620 or 610 and seeing what pops up... That's what I find neat that we can all have our individual passions for certain models.. I have nothing against 330's or 360's.. I have played lots of them over the years, although I have never owned one.
I just love the look of the cresting wave solid bodies... Roger Resmesial (sp?) came up with them or so I have been told...
If they let me, i'll gush about the solid bodies until someone shuts me up...

Re: Production Changes And Other Questions
Welcome to the forum, Brian.
Hey, you can talk about anything Rickenbacker here. That's what this forum is all about. No restrictions on models. I, personally, dig 320s, 350s and basses the most.
I think what Paul was hinting at was if you feel like talking about your favorite Rick model, it's usually a better idea to start a new topic on it, instead of dusting off old, moldy threads. Just because you're new to the forum doesn't mean you're not allowed to start a new thread to discuss whatever you want. You'd be surprised how many responses you get from the 610 and 620 fans here.

Re: Production Changes And Other Questions
Thanks for the welcome guys..
I am a newbie and I apologize if I have offended...
I had a 1977 320 at one time in my life... I loved it being a Lennon fan, but could barely play it because of the 3/4 neck.. If i ever go that route again it will be for a 350...
I really like the look and style of the Susanna Hoffs signature guitar... Has anyone here played one of those?
Brian

Jeffery:
I am in suspense here!
What does a Hoffs 350 play or sound like.. The pickups are a strange combination no? With the one Humbucker? I like the tiger inlays and double binding on it very much...
Or is the photo implying that Susanna Hoffs is a forum member here and will soon answer this question herself?

Re: Production Changes And Other Questions
Gary Clauson and Robyn Trott both own SH guitars and would be far more qualified than I to answer your inquiries.

Re: Production Changes And Other Questions
There is one on Ebay right now... I really do love the look of this guitar, but the timing isn't right with the Canadian dollar being so weak...
http://cgi.ebay.com/RICKENBACKER-MODEL- ... 240%3A1318
There are only 250 of them... So they can't come up too often.
