Thanks Warren, I was directed here by those crazy guys (just kidding at the Fender Forum where, surprise, surprise, Rickenbackers are held in very high regard ... naturally.

with all the members we have here i believe we would have a picture for every year almost every month and every model it would definitely blow away the bass section in the smith book or any other Rickenbacker literature out there.'wow' great idea.

I've always felt that the Richard Smith book is simply lacking in the bass department, not to mention the poorly printed B&W pictures.

I won't be so audacious as to ask for any of my RIC bass pics to be included in your book. They can be seen here anyway:

We get original negs sent to us all the time, they just have to be packed well so avoid damage. We have gotten 5x7 and 8x10 glass plates sent to us as well. I would love to try my hand at some of the negs RIC has as I know I can do a much better job than the results I see in the Smith book.

Paul you can be audacious, our 72 FL's can be next to each other in the book. Mine will be first because it is two serial numbers older, haha!

We are a custom b&w lab. All work we do is by hand whether it is the film processing or the printing. Our clients range from amateurs to professional photographers, students, fine artists, portrait and wedding photographers, pretty much anyone who wants the finest in real b&w. Another aspect of what we do is for museums, libraries and other kinds of historical/archival institutions. As we do not do machine prints we make contact sheets of the film and then the customer can pick which negs to have printed, along with any special instructions such as cropping, burning, dodging, etc. A lot of our customers are fine artists so we do fiber base prints for exhibition for them; we also make prints for those who hand color their work, generally this is on a matte fiber base paper. Did you check out the website? There are some sample images from work by myself and the other two partners in the lab. It first started out as a commercial photography business back in 1958 but the lab side of the business has become a major part of it now. We have clients from all over the US and some outside including Qatar in the Middle East.

What kind of photography is your son doing?

I would love to have a copy of the book you are envisioning. The more info, photos, art, schematics, etc., the better! Best of luck, and I too will volunteer pictures, although my Ric's are '94 and up...
