No, but I've heard of scams involving second chance offers. It could well be legitimate, but I'm hesitant to take a chance. However, someone else may be more adventurous than I.

Sounds "scammy" to me, Ron...

ESPECIALLY with a "zero"!! Normally, a zero doesn't have a clue how to do a second chance offer....

RUN....RUN like the wind from this one!!!

Or...do whatever you want...it's your money

Hey guys-

I think this may be of interest to you. I saw the auction on the 4001CS also(the one with the zero feedback seller). I threw out a low-ball bid just for fun on the auction about 2 hours into it. The auction was cancelled by EBAY and the following message was sent to me by EBAY:

Dear Jeffrey J. Thomas,

The following listing:

7306666433 - Rickenbacker 1997.Limited Edition Bass

has been removed from eBay for violating eBay policy. Since this
listing was removed, you are not required to complete the transaction.

For a complete list of eBay’s policies, please visit:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/item_allowed.html

Regards,

Customer Support (Trust and Safety Department)
eBay Inc

After the EBAY email, I received an offer from the seller similar to the one mentioned above, stating that he had cancelled the auction to sell the guitar to someone for $3000.00...the deal fell through, and asking would I like to buy it for $3000.00.

Needless to say, I'm not interested!

If I feel gutty enough tomorrow I will throw in a bid on the 94 that originally started this thread.

The current top bidder already has a Carl Wilson and a Tom Petty, so he's going to be a player on this one.

Go for it, Marc! I'm going to sit this one out. I just hope it doesn't go too high so you can afford it and I can use the more recent bids to make an offer elsewhere Image.

Sold! $3905...I really blew it big time. Oh well, I'll be at the Bellagio the next three days. Maybe my luck will fare better there.

Sorry Marc. :-) There is that other with the $2900 BIN. Of course, it has no cert and is in Japan.

The thrill with this one was the date on the cert.

I was going to go for it but, if you doubled the price and added a couple of zeros, you'll have the price I just paid for a house on which I'm closing in June. That's really what I should concentrate on.

The seller of the Japan one sent me an e-mail response to a question regarding shipping. It took about 4 days to get this response....

"
You asked:
"How much to ship to Maryland zip 21795? Thank you."

Hello. The delivery expense is $206 to the USA.I send it by EMS. Please understand a few error margins because of the exchange rate of the day. Thank you!

You're right about the house , Marc.

You'll need a place to store your RIC's.....
