Hey Everybody,

I've been a LONG time lurker on this forum and figured it was time to rear my ugly head... And I do mean ugly as you'll see from the pics below. 8) I've been playing Rics since the late 70's when I bought my '77 MG 4001 brand new. Since then I've managed to acquire a few more: '75 480 Autumnglo, '82 4002 Walnut, '85 4003 Red, '92 4003 Jetglo, '99 450v63 Burgundyglo, and '03 4004 Cheyenne Natural. I currently play bass for a singer/songwriter from Akron, Ohio named Brian Lisik (http://www.brianlisik.com, http://www.myspace.com/brianlisikband) and, up until this past Saturday, played bass & upright bass for another singer/songwriter named Ryan Humbert (http://www.ryanhumbert.com, http://www.myspace.com/ryanhumbertband). Ryan's moving to Nashville to further his music career so Saturday was our final show. Here's a couple pics showing the Cheyenne and 4002. There's two beauties in that second pic; our backup singer/acoustic guitarist Emily and the 4002.

Thanks to Peter for providing such a great resource for us Ric aficionados.

Take it easy,
Steve

Welcome Steve! :) When did you play at Lock 3 Live? My band, Rare Blend, has played there a couple times.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. You guys have pretty keen eyes. Joey, I believe that is a Warwick in the background. It was the headliner's. Jeff, we played there in August '06 with an Eagles tribute band. I'll have to check your band out. I've read good things about your bass skills here.

Take it easy,
Steve

Welcome Steve! Nice basses. Let me know when you want to sell that 4002. It just doesn't suit you....

Cool! We played there also in August '06, opening for the Family Stone Experience (with some original members of Sly And The Family Stone) and the Average White Band.

That 4005 is beautiful, Jeff. It doesn't look like you have enough guys in your band to carry that Ampeg cab, though!

Listened to some of your songs. Some really great bass work!

And Steve, sorry but you'll be around 47th in line if that ever happens... :) But you'll have to talk to my wife cuz I'll be dead.

Jeff - that's a wicked 'Townshend Windmill' your guitarist is doing! Can't even see his arm!

That photo doesn't show our keyboardist/vocalist, Bobbi, the guitarist's wife. She moves all the gear!

Actually, the Ampeg was part of the supplied backline. I had several choices of amps and cabs to choose from. :D
