What boggles me is that the Höfner has a vibrato/tremelo/"whammy bar"...I've never seen a bass with a vibrato, let alone a classic bass like a Hofner.

The Hofner is there for looks and identity; it is meant to be used as a bass or guitar. Historic accuracy was not a major consideration; this makes perfect sense from a marketing standpoint, although it may offend from a historical viewpoint.

The whammy bar is part of the game play; wouldn't be fair to keep it off one instrument and have it on others.

That's better said than my post, JB. Thanks.

No problem Paul. My friends love the game but I'm terrible at it.

I've never wanted to try it, but with this Beatles thing and Juliana's fixation on the Fab Four (ever since Dhani Harrison hugged her! :D ), it's on our "must have" list. With a Rick controller, of course...

Say, I have a couple of extra Rick carcasses...I wonder if I could...

I've never played the game, so I may be full of it...

My guess as to why there's a whammy bar is that it's more of a programmer's cheat rather than fairness, etc. It's a lot easier to write the program if everything works the same. Lots more code and debugging if different instruments work differently...

I encourage her fixation 100%. Hey, it worked for me. But why play a game controller when she's coming right along with the real thing? Her version of "A Day In The Life" was very impressive. Except every time she comes to a barre chord she sort of plays air guitar through it to the next first position chord.  I can dig it though, those pesky Bs and Fs are a bear for a beginner ...
