It's a Deering Crossfire special-order tenor banjo. Brilliant piece of kit.

For those of you who got such a kick out the Hempstead stage in my first pic, here's another from last week, also in LungEyeland. We were positive we'd be rained out - it actually held off until I was nearly home. On a clear night we'll get nearly a thousand people up on the Boardwalk.

OMG!

I grew up in Levittown!

I haven't seen a TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD anything in YEARS!

Where was the gig bassilisk?
ajish4 - We were in Island Park. I'm guessing you're not in Long Island anymore. I'm born and raised in Astoria, Queens myself. We do 90% of our work on the Island. We're supposed to be in Long Beach tonight but the weather doesn't look good. Too bad - we really like this gig. They set the stage up on the sand facing the Boardwalk - makes for a real nice venue.

Where are you now?
Sorry Vasyl,

I missed this one..

I'm in "God's waiting room", Florida!

Man, I miss home.

Born in Brooklyn and moved to Levittown when I was only days old. Lived in Nassau until I was about 23 or so before moving to the East End of Suffolk County for 18 years.

I moved my family down to Florida about 6 years ago and I've only been home once since the move. :( It does the heart good to see some old signs of home.

Thanks for posting!

That's a rip Tony!!!! As long as you're not wearing plaid shorts with black nylon socks up to your knees you should be okay.

Though I won't have the Ric on every gig I'll do what I can to ease your homesickness.

Beautiful old 4001 George. What year, and is it an FG? Almost looks like Paul Boyer's MinkGlo color in that picture. Nice Tak also. Sweet guitars. Welcome to RRF!

Come on Dan, it can't be a "workhorse" if it still has the "MADE IN USA" sticker on the pickguard! :D

Looks like a refin or an odd Burgundy with darker edges. Remember, we've seen some Mapleglo with inexplicable dark edges?
