I'm in the midst of a C to B (accented with a G and F#) in the Elvis version of "Little Sister"; you know, the " . . . don't you do what your big sister done" part.

Nah, I gotta work when I play. Once in a while I can come up to scope depth and have a look around. Not much to see at this rather sad little church fair in a poor neighborhood, anyway.

A slightly obnoxious pic of me playing the 381; I'll try to get some pics of my playing the TURQ and AZ WBs at this Saturday's gig:

and new Vandas website at

http://www.thevandas.com, where you can stream the new rekkid and our back catalogue.

Here's one for the "Old Farts playing Rics" department ..

This is a photo of me playing my then-new 4001 in 1976 at an outdoor festival called a "Be-In". The band played progressive art-rock and I ran the Rick into an Acoustic 470 6X12 guitar amp - of course I had the patented Squire "GinkyTone" to the max. It was great fun. I still have this bass, and intend to pass it along to my son (who plays bass) when I head out to the "next gig".

By the way, the orange thing on the headstock is a microphone pop shield that I kept on there to prevent the little curly thing from getting dinged. It also looked cool.

Interestingly, two of the guys in this band went on to become famous horror authors (John Skipp and Craig Spector).

Rock on Rickenbacker!
