JH, what are the chances of any of these guitars reaching the UK? And how can you order one, if at all?

Well, metallic purple doesn't make much sense from a marketing standpoint, so I would have to guess that it's either metallic red or a metallic red and black combination.
I think I would go with the metallic red and black combo, it sounds more exciting and it's appears to be totally original.

And gold guards would look good with:
red + black = metallic black cherry
I hope that's the color that was the happy accident. It sounds great.

So we're honing in on the color. Now the models.
In a post in the 75th Anniversary Bass section of this forum, JH made a comment on my summary of the potential models under discussion. I said, "Opinions regarding the exact identity of the models varies somewhat, but the general range of opinions includes a 330, 360 (6 and/or 12 string versions) 650, and 4003.”
JH responded with, “No need to guesstimate the extra cost: + $500 list which covers not only the paint but . . . some other details.
The guitar list wasn't a bad guess either; three out of four!”
So, 3 of the 4 models are in the above list. I'm currently wondering if the wrong one is the 650, because of JH's comment that it was a Red Herring. We have centered our discussion on the color, and have not taken his words literally. Could it be that he meant it as a double "clue?" In addition, the 650 body has similar characteristics to the 4004 (like softer edges), which JH has said will not be included for several obvious reasons. Could it be binding? If that's the case, then the 330 would also be out. And why would guitars without binding be eliminated out of hand unless there was special binding? I'm just thinking out loud here and I know Paul has commented that something like CB had the potential to gum up the works so this may be a bunny trail that leads nowhere. But it is intriguing eh? Any thoughts fellow detectives?

I meant "additional CB work", of course.

Johneek- I think the 4004 was excluded because it doesn't have a pickguard, I would be very surprised if there were binding changes to any of the models, its probably a special pickguard.

I hate to seem biased here,,,,but if indeed it is 4 different models, 75 each, (3 guitar models and 1 bass model), the guitar players will have 225 to pick from whereas the bass players only have 75 to pick from. Is there no justice in the bass world ???
But,,then again, the whole thing is still just a myth right ??

Metallic Black = Diamond Jetglow, plus chekerboard, plus fw inlays, plus pearloid guards, plus 75th logo, plus vintage case.
Models are 360/6, 360/12, 620 and 4003
or maybe not. Hey I can dream too!

We're drifting...

I don't think I was drifting too far...
Diamond Jetglow burst was one of my previous guesses and it wasn't long after that Mr. Hall said someone had it exactly right, maybe he meant the name of the color?
If you look at the models I selected and their cousins, the only new programming would be the CB for the 360 and the fw inlays on the 4003.
Do I win a 75th 4003 if I'm right on the money?
Naw, I didn't think so either!

I think you have to stay with just the special color on the four standard models and maybe a commemorative pickguard.
Maybe.
What Paul says makes think that there will be nothing special about the pickguard or TRC though.
