Does this mean that you have a luthier who is modifying Rickenbacker guitars to meet your specs, or that he is building these instruments from scratch?

We're starting with period-correct Rickenbacker guitars. Some parts have to be built from scratch.

Although I am nowhere familiar with the laws in any of these countries mentioned, or of RIC's distibutor agreement, I would have to assume that they may have similar restrictions as to where they can sell. For example the dealer agreements for North America do not permit selling outside of North America, otherwise US dealers would be shipping new product to Europe and OZ. I would think any distributor would want some assurance that they have a protected territory. Of course this is all speculation on my part. It would be nice to think that those in the UK and elsewhere in Europe could buy specials made for a particular distibutor.

OK, getting back to NAMM 2013....

Here's some videos posted by a guy on another forum I frequent. Kinda shows what NAMM is all about (I'll have to take his word for it 'cause I've never been there):

They must have toned down the volume considerably to be able to actually isolate those performances from the din of the show!

I don't know if it's still a Rickenbacker.

You know the old story about Noah's hammer, the ohe he used to build the ark? He passed it down to his descendents and they still have it today.

But after a while the handle wore out, so they made a new one.

And eventually the hammer head bent and broke, so they replaced it with a new one.

But they still have grandfather Noah's hammer, right?

I'm certain that the guys at the Rickenbacker factory would look at my guitars and say: we may have built most of those parts, including the serial number plates and the TRCs, but we sure didn't build *that* guitar, even though we could've!

If it were up to me, someone here wouldn't make it to post #10.

After viewing, it begs the question, when is RIC going to make a 7 or 8 string bass??
