It would look REALLY cool if the fingerboard was black too.

so Nick ... how do you like the old 4004L?

I rewired mine volume, volume, tone ... like a jazz bass and put a non-ric toaster in the neck position ...

I find the Laredo basses are a little brighter than the Cheyenne basses due to the all maple body ...

the 4004L is a great bass even though the neck's wider than a 4003, it's still sweet to play. i sometimes find it's a bit too bassy as daft as that sounds and the controls took a bit of getting used to, but you definitely know there's a bass line being played. i bet that low B really rattles the foundations! i see jps also has his 4004 wired v/v/t, is it an easy mod to carry out?

with the vol vol tone and the neck toaster it is a little brighter than it was stock ... I like a low B on a Ric because it has a nice growl that you don't get with a lot of the emg active 5 string basses out there ...

"you'll be wanting a unionjackglo laredo next jaymi! would look pretty good too. hmm now there's an idea.." Hmmmmm, don't get me started. I am debating on repainting one of my fenders that way too and have a fun matched pair....
