What two colors were used to make the Amberfireglo?

Was an amber clear coat put on OVER a normal Fireglo?

What would it look like if you put the amber clear coat over a Jetglo? Would it still look black? Or would it look different? I'm sure I'm off track here because it's not metallic like John has said, but I'm just wondering...

What has me wondering is the $500.00 additional cost. If a COY is $100.00 additional, where could the additional $400.00 be applied?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's unreasonable for a commemorative model, Ric gives you a fantastic bang for your buck, I'm wondering if there's SOMETHING ELSE?

IE: A vintage case or a Horseshoe with toasters for the 4003? I don't know anything about guitars, but RIC doesn't usually charge you for something your NOT getting....makes me wonder...COULD there be more than color and guards?????

That was my thought process Tony.

Thanks Ray,

I thought I was out on a limb here, AGAIN!

Oh PLEASE guys, a sweet HS with a toaster would be the perfect Anniversary accouterment (sp)?

My thinking on the models was geared towards best sellers and if you go to the MF site it's 4003, 360, 360/12, 330 and 620. If you throw out the only non deluxe model you have my model list.

As far as the extras for the 75th I believe there will not be anything that would be model specific, such as a bass horse shoe or guitars with vintage pickups.

My bet is on the special finish, logo pickguards (special material or not) and checkered binding.

If you break down the $500 over regular list price and take $300 off the top for color and vintage case, that last $200 x 300 instruments is $60,000. More than enough, imho, to program for cb 360s and extra install labor on the whole 300 instrument run.

Like we've ever sold a guitar at list price . . .

If you put amber CV over Jetglo, it turns the Jetglo a very subtle olive green-black. You really couldn't tell unless you were to place it next to a new pure Jetglo instrument.

Nearly everytime I touch up an older JG instrument, I have to add a bit of yellow ochre tint to my JG to match the already-aged CV. The amount of yellow varies.

'Course, there could always be a special pickguard like the bass that's currently on eBay...except the seller calls it a "pitguard".

These "analyses" of the pricing on these seem oddly out of place. If there's ever been a guitar manufacturer with a fairer pricing structure (that is still in business!) than RIC, I'm unaware of them. RIC simply does not have a mercenary, charge-what-the-traffic-will-bear, inclination, unlike other well-known brands beginning with "Fen" and "Gib".

John's point is well-made, of coures--the actual premium which RIC will see on the $500 premium will be half or less.

This is a fun pursuit, no doubt about it.

On another note.

I would like to publicly apologize to Mr. Hall for the disrespect I gave him in a private email exchange that he was unfortunate enough to receive from me.

With more time here and on RIC'S home forum, I have learned that he is all about his customers and nothing else.

Mr. John Hall, I am sorry for my previous behavior and doubt. You have shown me that I was wrong to assume anything about you or your company.

Thank you for being the rock of support that you are.

Ray Christensen.

(for all: I was rude in private, but a public apology means more in my mind, thanks for bearing with me.)

I am still crushed by the lack of a 4004. I don't think the binding is the issue for exclusion since the 4004LK has CB binding......so I would lean towards it being a pickguard issue. I would really like to get a 75th anniversary model but it is useless to me if it isn't something I'd enjoy playing. I guess I'll wait for the 100th.

All the speculation about "reds", "black", "black cherry" ect.. Maybe the answer has been under our noses the whole time.

Yeah, I'd like to see CB binding again. And black trim.

Is RIC Midnight Blue metallic? I have to ask because I've never seen the color in person.

If it is you may be able to add a little MB to JG and get an interesting version of metallic black.

Mid is metallic.

In response to certain individuals: If you don't like the special anniversary edition, don't order it. But please don't cast aspersions because it's not what YOU wanted it to be.
