"Unseen Archives" is a really solid book. All B&W, 400 pages of mostly full page photos with sparse text, arranged chronologically. Many outtakes from the well-known pics, mostly they are indeed unseen by these eyes. It's a real good one to have by the bed 'cause you don't need your reading glasses. Twelve bucks used, published in 2002. I'll treasure the gift of it.
Marie Clayton and Gareth Thomas. Like you said, it's good, very solid, but not earth-shaking.

Thanks, Patrick. Nice collection, but I would like to strangle the caption writer. I'm a former editor, and aside from the matter-of-fact prose, even the facts are construed. One shot describes them meeting the queen, but the shot shows the queen mum. Another states "Ringo got married" and fails to mention the name of the young lady in the picture -- Maureen (Mary) Cox. I would run out of red ink!

I'm sure we're all familiar with the picture of John backstage with his 1996. Then there's the picture of John circa 1967 in his recording room at home, where you can see the 1996 in the background. Are there any other pictures of John with the 1996? Are there any pictures of him actually playing it?

- Since the whole thing was such a flop, I wonder if they ever
decided on who won the "battle of the bands".
Is it too late to vote?
