Add the $50.00 shipping and you might just as well call it $5K.

$4996.80

IMO, $4K was a given...how much over will go back and forth based on supply/demand.

Yep - this auction set the value of the NEXT one to be auctioned at $3876. Why? Well, the zero feedback bidder is NOT unscathed. This bidder won a $1400 Hofner on Jan 17th 2007, and was a NO PAY. Then the bidder got back to zero by getting good feedback on a $3 item. Not promising. SO, assume he or she is a flake and assume the next guy down gets it and is now no longer a buyer.

That just leaves the third-highest bidder to set the price of the next one, and that price was the max bid of $3876.

So, who out there on the Forum is willing to sell their new 4003DCM to me for $3876, less the eBay listing and final value fees? I will buy it from you, right now, $3750! Quick cash from an established source on the Forum Image <[email protected]>

Scott - there are two reasons for someone to put a $10K bid. One is that he wants to make sure he wins. That is his max and he will not have to pay $10K, just $10 more than the next high bidder.

The other reason is to find out the reserve price. By entering a ridiculously high bid, eBay will automatically raise your current bid to the reserve. Then you retract the bid, giving whatever reason, and you're out, the current highest bid goes back to below reserve. This way you are the only one who knows what the reserve price is.
