That's ok, he is more of a Brit phenomenom I think. Pete Doherty of Babyshambles and previously of the Libertines. He is infamous for his drug and alcohol addiction and his relationship with Kate Moss. And yes, it is Roger Daltrey!!!

Graham Griffiths, who was with me when we found it, found these photos for me. There is also some video on YouTube of this same gig where he dumps the poor little Rick on the floor and it falls flat on it's face. It makes me cringe. The kind lead guitarist, Mick Whitnall who part-exed it at my friends shop, is then seen picking it up off the floor! It is a little knocked about and badly refinished with Dulux (we think!), the neck was stripped bare but it plays very well. I had the neck sealed after excellent advice from Paul W. I think there are some photos of it on a thread somewhere in here.....

So, some interesting rock history. A tough start in life, but it is guaranteed to be loved and well cared for from now on.

I always knew my Ricks were sexy, but I have never been able to figure out what sex they are...

I've been fortunate enough to see and play Sarah's white 330. It certainly has an aura about it and it plays beautifully!!

Actually, all my Ricks are boys - guys, rather. So far I seem to be the only guy on the RRF with male basses. Not sure how that came to be, but all I know is that for me, the Ricks I own have achieved their male status as a result of being extensions of myself. Perhaps this is the way I bond with the instrument as opposed to considering it a separate entity that I'm engaging with. Perhaps I'm over-thinking this whole premise a bit, too. But none-the-less, there you have it.

Hmm, mine are male-owned, but as I said, I've never really assigned a sex.

Of course, since they all have "innies", maybe they're actually female...

Hehe..... I haven't thought too much about the gender of my guitars, except that before my 330 was transformed to Purpleburst I had thought of it as a mellow old grandpa in faded fireglo, and now it definitely must be female, in its voluptuously sexy shade of purple. The only other guitars I can really assign a gender to are my 615, which I think of as my "chick rocker" guitar, and my Breedlove 6-string acoustic, which is so sweet-natured and gentle and lovely, it couldn't possibly be a guy!

I guess I think of my basses as male, too, because no female can sing that low, LOL!

That's true - the biological framework of that bass/baritone range suggests a lean towards testosterone, doesn't it!
