Looks like you were right John. I first got confirmation from someone from RIC. And today I got confirmation from the dealer that "their backorder was cancelled" (??).

Jammer, Bert. That's a disappointment, I'm sure.
Well, there's always the used market ...

Yeah I know. I've seen dozens go on Ebay in past years. But not with all the goodies I expected mine to have by now....

Well I must have the acute version versus the chronic version JimK, Bert and Chris have.
I ordered the 360/6 FG on Wed, July 2 and it's not here yet

!
I guess the acute version is not quite as bad as the chronic version, but us acute people need just as much therapy!
I got my tracking number on July 4 and UPS doesn't work on holidays!
Waah, Waah, Waah!

So I take it that within a week you'll have a new Rick?

I dont have anything anymore. My dealer is trying to find out weather his order was cancelled by Rick, or by the distributor.

Bert,
Sorry to hear the order was cancelled. What a bummer! I guess just too many guitars and basses trying to be shoved down the line and not enough capacity. Still hope you can find one NOS or used.
JimK,
Yes I hope to have it by this week. Appears the 6 strings have now been moving out of the factory fairly rapidly. So much so that one of the big on-line retailers had a great sale on 330's and 360's. Must be the combination of the CNC for making the bodies, the new finishing system that cuts drying time and probably some more people in assembly.

OK, reading through this thread makes me feel a lot better about UPS taking a week to go from Kansas to Maryland.
Carry on.

This was indeed a bummer for me. I'm still curious weather this was due to a) a lousy (only if true) (french) distributor, b) Rickenbacker not fullfilling orders or c) the shop where I ordered in question. I wrote the shop a very angry mail and the shop owner himself phoned me afterwards. Since that call I have reason to believe they are not responsible for the cancelling of the backorder (they also returned interest on my downpayment).

Well at least right handed people can order. I'm really out in the cold being a lefty. It can take months before one even shows up on ebay then good luck getting it. All I want is a 360/12 in maple or fire, and a 4001s. I'll be 60 before I see one.

How many folks here are "still waiting" from 2009??

Startin' to fell a little better about the 22 months I waited for mine (370/12). Ordered in early 2009 and arrived 22 months to the week later. At the time, I thought I might pass away 'fore it got here.

I waited 5 years for a Lefty 330 fireglo. It was worth it even though I had adult tantrums from time to time
