NCD! Not vintage, not expensive, but nonetheless a cool cab that will fill a niche in the pile'o'stuff: Easy to cart 30lb. cab for general purposes; handles the low Bs; 8 ohm extension for the GK MB150s; sounds good with the EA micro 550. Really digging it. Just getting ready to try it out on the rest of this weekend's gigs. Happy Holidays, one and all.

And at work…
The extra 12 really fills out the sound. I was playing a musical so it wasn't strictly necessary. The band plays up in the old organ loft and the music is fed into the hall. The conductor wears cans, watches a screen and conducts into a camera. We follow him live, the stage performers have screens facing the stage. No tuxes required!

For big gigs I use my GK MB500 with 2/12 and 4/10 neo cabinets. It matches well with my Ricks and my other basses. For rehearsals and small room gigs I do use a Fender Rumble 200. Sometimes I even use it for bigger gigs since we run bass through the board anyways.

Yep, I play my Ric 4003 through a MARSHALL 100 WATT TUBE GUITAR head

Through a Marshall 4X10 BASS cab. NO, it will not destroy the head.... sounds killer and I get that perfect MOTÖRHEAD/Lemmy sound and this set up is LOUD! Getting a second Marshall bass cab once I can find one.

The first amp I used on a regular basis, back in the very early '70s, was a friend's Marshall 1987 with 4-12 cabinet. I borrowed it from him for a while as the Sunn 2000S with matching 2-15 cabinet he also owned was too big/heavy for me to cart around.

Hi,
My son uses a Behringer BX120 Bass Combo with his 4003s and his Hofner Violin Bass and is satisfied with this relativ cheap Combo!

Peter

Fender Rumble 200 for all my basses. Minor EQ tweaks if needed. My tone is old school Motown/Stax.

For several years, my "do it all" rig has been a Peavey Pro 500 amp with either (or both) the matching Pro 210 and Pro 410 cabs. I'm way too clumsy to risk using any kind of pedalboard, so my tuner and noise gate are also in the rack.
Both cabs sound good to me - the 210 is a little deeper voiced; the 410 is much more balanced overall. But the amp is the secret weapon . . . tube pre; 500 watts into 2 ohms; three fully-parametric mid bands.
Wished I played more gigs which needed the whole rig !!

Small venue.
Medium venue.
Large venue.
Combine both rigs.

Just got a custom 2x15" cab built by Pharaoh Cabs and figured I'd throw in a pic of my pedal setup too!

Holy carp!
Why do you need so many pedals? For the most part, I try a pedal, think it sounds cool, then try it with the band and never use it again.

I don't need all of them necessarily but I do use them all with my band! Makes my role much more interesting

To be honest, I do use a couple of pedals. I bought a DigiTech Bass Synth Wah on a whim, played with it and put it away. Then I joined a band that was playing Styx's Too Much Time on my Hands, and found a setting that sounds good on the intro. And I just started using an overdrive for one song in another band in which I do a bass lead. In that band, I also use the Bass Synth Wah on a set of Crumar CPB-1 bass pedals that have a really boring sound otherwise. But for bass guitar, it's just two pedals on two different songs in two different bands.
In general, I find that effects on bass sound really good when I'm practicing by myself. When I try them in a band setting, I find either that they're inaudible or that they take the punch out of the sound, so I don't use them. Other players obviously find them useful. Maybe it's my style of play, or the bands I play in, I dunno, but they just don't play a large role in my playing.
