Paul,
Thank you! I took a look at this thread earlier and I didn't even know where to begin go get us back on track. I'm glad you took the initiative to at least point out that we are way...way...off track. A long time ago, in a galaxy far away....

My God you people aren't in another universe, you're in another dimension's dimension!

THERE IS NO ANNIVERSARY MODEL!

Or is there...?

Oh well, don't care to post here regularly so much anymore so I'll see the reaction over yonder over the next few months.

Ben,

re: "Oh well, don't care to post here regularly so much anymore"

Have we made you feel unwelcome? That's certainly not our intention. We feel privileged to have you, John, Kenny and the the rest of the guys post here.

Please don't stop.

Ben is right, the people on this board are absolute Rickenbacker freaks(myself included) and I'm afraid it's incurable. We can get out of hand sometimes but I feel like everyone here is top quality. It is a bonus that the RIC royalty show up occasionally to throw us crumbs from their table and that would be sorely missed, it is very much appreciated.

"Oh well, don't care to post here regularly so much anymore"

Well...I wonder what that means. Not much to say really, but if it means as it sounds, it rather puts us in our place, doesn't it!

He stop by often enough to throw a little gas on the fire that keeps this thread going.

"...it rather puts us in our place, doesn't it!"
Certainly does, at that!

I dunno, although I welcome and celebrate the contributions of the RIC "royalty" (here's the part where I smack my forehead in "did he really use that word" disbelief), I'd take a more moderate view.

I do hope ya come back Ben, but maybe when/if you do you'll just be amused with our enthusiasm rather than turned off by it.

Well, I guess Rumbush won't be going to any of the invite only events either. Image

Rumbush: I think it is worth mentioning that the reason we are here is, at least for the most part, because of Rickenbacker and products.

I am not sure what offended Ben, and I have asked for clarification.

I do suspect, however, that the type of openness that you have provided here may not be helpful in having him embrace the Rickenbacker Forum.

My first thought would be, what has offended Ben. My second, how can we "take a sad song and make it better."

At the end of the day, I too hope that Ben returns often. After all, we all share more than a passing interest in what leaves the Factory and what new projects may be on the horizon.

Alas, I cannot let your comments stand as they seemed harsh before we get the chance to appreciate the whole story. Hence the edit.

Fortunately I didn't expect to go.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having an opinion that is different that other peoples'. It doesn't negate the fact that I'm madly in love with Rickenbackers or mean that I'm not grateful for when the cats from RIC post here. I'll still buy RICs, will still hope that the RIC folks come around, and to the dismay of perhaps some around here, will continue to post from time to time in the humble pursuit of offering some contribution to the discourse.

Wow, I'm definitely surprised and disappointed that you censored me, Peter. My comments were just as complimentary as they were critical. It was a balanced post.

So are opinions that don't fall in line with the "mainstream" not welcome here?
