Sounds like a great idea for the music room..but that nitro is powerful stuff; would only trust William to do that job!

Thanks, Eddie... now that surely is not the way to treat an instrument! But then he's not the only one, as I remember another artist doing something like that to a bass
I do hope William uses the right protection... this an example of how not to do it:

- Source: me own picture; location: small guitar company's spraying booth

Some say you can't be too careful when working with nitro...personally, I'd say this guy has taken the Health and Safety too far..

After several pages of something different returning back to topic would be too boring, wouldn't it?
Unfortunately the best joke already is at the beginning: just read the OP again...

There's something not right with the timings in the the thread I linked to above as it says that Gerry chopped the headstock in 1965. Clearly it's missing in the video you posted with the NZ band. However if you look at the picture of Gerry below it seems the headstock is intact and shaped as it was before it shipped (as shown in the original factory shot). The pic with Gerry looks like it was taken in the '70's..certainly it's way later than '65. If it's the same guitar (which it looks like it is judging by the FG shading/trc shape etc) that means he must have modified it much later than '65....probably mid '70's.

Nice to see he found a longer strap eventually.

Maybe they meant 75 instead of 65?

...in the recent British Invasion dvd (which is excellent) he jokes about it and how in the early days he was so worried that he would screw up the solos that he had the strap crazy short just so he could see what he was doing! Obviously by the mid-70's he had gained in confidence....
