I had to be *very* careful when playing the mandolin. Fortunately, that song doesn't have any keyboards that I have to play so I can keep one hand on the mandolin at all times. That also means I have to drink my vodka/cranberry with the same hand I'm picking with. But, that is why we have band practice! I have been working hard on this technique and have it nearly mastered.

My mandolin is from 2009, just arrived in April. Initially, the reverse tuning (compared to a bass) was a little weird for me, but after a couple of weeks of practice it got a lot easier. Kinda like when I got my first 4004, which I can now play with no string-width issues.

A few weeks ago, a friend brought over a [contraband] acoustic mandolin. The Rick ate it for lunch  The neck on the Rick was way better, and the electronics rock!

Contraband?

or, contra band?

Seriously, did you type it that way or did it censor a word for you?

Thanks Mark!
That's my Sept.1980.
I got it off of e-bay in 2003 for $800.00! With original case.
It's near mint!
And it plays like a dream!

Nice grab!

I'm sure it's just the way the strings are covering them, but those inlays almost look full-width, too.

Yeah, I couldn't believe the deal I got on it!

The inlays are just the standard ones that they had at the time.
I love that bass.
I always wanted a Burgandyglo and for years I talked about it and the ex-girlfriend was against me getting it.
So I found one on e-bay and traded her for the bass.
