I was at Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse, WI day before yesterday. While there I overheard a gentleman asking about the wait time of a Ric bass. The clerk told him that it was about a 2 year wait. Anyways, the gentleman said, "Maybe I should go out to Santa Ana ....".

As we were walking out the door, I told the gentleman about the RickResource Forum and the 2007 SoCal confluence.

BTW, Dave's had several 300 Series JGs in stock.

I have a room at the HI for Friday night the 24th.

Our plans are to drive down to San Juan Capistrano on Thursday to see CIRCA and we'll stay there overnight. On Friday we'll putz around and make our way up to Santa Ana, unless a factory tour or something else is happening, then we will run up the freeway like the devil!

Looking forward to seeing some faces Friday evening, perhaps for dinner, and at the bar for sure!

If there are Friday details on get-togethers that I have missed out on, please fill us in on what's going on!

No plans set up yet for the evenings, at least none that I'm aware of. I'm sure most of us if not all of us would be up for getting together for dinner and such.

I just made reservations for Thursday thru Saturday nites. Then something occurred to me...I wonder if the people at the hotel making all of our reservations had the forethought to book us rooms above the our chosen conference room. Wouldn't that just kill two birds with one stone.

It wouldn't hurt for someone to suggest that to them!

Is there a special rate at the HI?

Yes there is. It's $94.00 per night and you have to ask for the special even rate...and drop a few names of people that you know are going to be there.

Hmmmm..... I'm paying a bit more than that so maybe I should send them an email. So who's names should I be dropping? Image

I mentioned Gary and then other people on this forum who were staying there for the "special event rate". You might contact the person Gary and Joey dealt with. Her name is Patricia.

It's important to talk to someone actually at the hotel. The 800 number for Holiday Inn didn't cut it so I got the direct number for this particular hotel. The kicker is that the one on the website and even on my reservation e-mail is wrong, but once I got through, I scored a $40.00 a night discount. I'd give ya the number but it's scribbled on something at work.

And be careful, I called the front desk, asked to change my reservation and got back to the clueless ones(corporate).. The person at the hotel who has a clue, is Tammy in sales. I asked her to let corporate know about the group rate. We shall see if it does any good. Also I may be willing to split my room with someone. I have two queen size beds in the room, just in case we need an extra bed for someone. If not, I can always invite spousal unit, but she doesn't get much into our noodling!

So that's what you call it, noodling! I'll try that out on Shari. Image
