Finally, what you’ve all been waiting for . . . (drum roll please):
(Sorry that the bass head and music stand are in the way.)
And fourth-fifths of the band:
(Please don’t ask about the singer’s shirt.)

AAaaaaghhhh. that would be a nice shot without the music stand ! .... (which, IM-very-HO, shouldn't be there to begin with photo or no photo)

Tell me about the singer's pants, then.
Has he always been so sartorially-challenged or was it just Oscar night?

Well, Kent, I need all the help I can get. You know what they say, when one gets to be my age two things are the first to go. One is memory and the other is . . . uh, I forgot.
And besides, if guitar g-d Jorma Kaukonen can use a music stand , so can I:

Paul, about the pants and the shirt. First a disclaimer: My first loves are blues, folk and (as mentioned several times before) the great S.F. 60s practitioners of same: Airplane/Dead/Hot Tuna. And a splash of a zillion others too many to mention.
If I could be in a band playing what my inner musical soul prefers, I’d be a most happy man. But sometimes one must make compromises in life. And I found excellent musicians to play with and we play music that people like and that (so far) has gotten us pretty steady (though not exactly financially rewarding) gig work. So be it. I get my “fix” at home, playing with friends and during my sojourns to the Fur Peace Ranch.
So... our band is in the “entertainment business” (as Country Joe would say). As part of the “entertainment,” our lead singer sometimes makes a “costume change” before a new set. We often lead off our second set with a medley that begins with Neil Diamond’s “Cherry Cherry.” So, our singer is dressed in the Neil Diamond “spirit” at the time of the photo, with a sparkly shirt and leather pants.
[The rest of the medley is Mellencamp's "ROCK in the USA" and the Romantics' "What I Like About You." All follow the same basic chord pattern.]

Mark... my comment was olny made in the spirit of friendship and chronologically-challenged kinship. I too need a bit of ... what was that word again?
Just a note.... about 2.5 years ago was when my (little) band got kickstarted into regular gigging. What did that was the entrance of a (very) experienced bass player / vocalist. After a few weeks of practices we had a little gig lined up and he made the comment... "you guys aren't planning on bringing those music stands to the gig, are you?"..... well, that was the kick in the *** the 2 guitar players needed and we've never had a music stand on the stage since. I still use a cheat sheet (taped to the the top of my amp) to occasionally glance at between songs to offset the CRS (Cant Remember Sh*t) disease, but throwing off the crutch of the music stands was the one of the best things we ever did.
Anyways... didn't mean to sound to critical... rock on fellow oldieman.....

Had a big gig the other night. With my 660/12, partially hidden behind that behemoth of a keyboard.
